Reconciliation: Hosted drag and drop website builder

Wix or a done-for-you website: what should an accountant spend their time on?

Wix is a fair choice for a brand new solo bookkeeper or tax preparer who wants something live this weekend and enjoys editing it. The trade is your time. An accounting professional's hours are the product, and a site that needs one page per service, one per office and a steady article schedule takes many of them. A managed site hands all of that to us.

What you get with Wix

Wix is a hosted website builder. You choose a template, arrange pages in a drag and drop editor and publish, with hosting included in its premium plans. It has an app market for extras such as booking and forms, and AI tools that help generate a first draft. It is designed so a business owner with no technical background can build and run a site on their own.

Be honest about it

When Wix is the better fit

  • You are just starting a solo practice and the budget truly does not stretch to a managed plan yet.
  • You enjoy designing pages and have evenings free to keep the site current.
  • You need a simple single-page presence for now and plan to revisit it later.

For an accounting practice

When our managed site wins

  • Your billable hours are worth more than the hours a proper multi-service site takes to write and maintain.
  • You offer tax, bookkeeping and payroll and need each service to rank on its own page.
  • You want enquiries routed straight into your CRM instead of a form email that sits in an inbox.
  • You want the site ready and current before filing season without touching it yourself.

Switching04 steps

Moving a Wix site to us

Wix sites cannot be exported and re-hosted as they are, so a move is a rebuild, which is what our plans include anyway. You send us your domain and anything on the current site worth keeping. We rebuild it properly with a page for every service, redirect old page addresses where they change, and point your domain at the new site once you approve it. You then cancel the Wix plan on your own schedule.

What firms say after moving to a managed site

  • Sample review

Tax, audit and advisory used to share one paragraph. Now each has its own page and the intake form asks the questions we used to spend the first call on. By the time a prospect is on the phone, the partner already knows what kind of engagement it is.

  • Sample review

Splitting monthly bookkeeping from catch-up work was the change I did not know I needed. People with two years of unreconciled books now land on a page written for them, and they arrive already knowing which software we work in.

Questions about Wix for accounting firms

Is Wix good enough for a bookkeeping business?

For a new solo practice, it can be. As soon as you offer several services, run more than one office, or want a real publishing schedule, the time it takes you usually outweighs the savings.

Can I move my Wix site to your platform?

Wix sites are rebuilt rather than exported. That rebuild is part of every plan, and we redirect old addresses where they change.

Do I keep my domain if it was bought through Wix?

A domain you own can be transferred or pointed at the new site. We help with that during onboarding. Domains we register are in your name and transferred free if you leave.

Is your site faster than Wix?

We do not publish figures for other platforms. Ours is custom coded and carries a 90+ PageSpeed guarantee on mobile and desktop for pages we build and host.

How much time will I spend on the site with you?

The onboarding form takes about 15 minutes, then one onboarding call. After launch you only send change requests through the portal.

Can you write about tax topics for me?

Articles explain what a service involves and what clients should ask, framed as general information, never as tax, accounting or financial advice.

What does it cost compared with Wix?

We do not quote other providers' prices. Our plans are Single Entry at $137, Double Entry at $297 plus AI usage, or Full Ledger at $747 a month, with a $797 build fee invoiced only after launch, and domain and hosting included.

Can I cancel if it is not for me?

Yes, by email with two business days of notice before your next invoice. All sales are final, so the months you have paid for are not refunded.
